Propose a Satellite Meeting
Specialist meetings. Focused communities. Lasting connections.
Enhance your ICPP 2028 experience through a specialist Satellite Meeting, bringing together researchers, practitioners and industry leaders from focused areas of plant pathology and related disciplines.
Held immediately before and after the 13th International Congress of Plant Pathology, these meetings create space for deeper scientific discussion, collaboration, networking and knowledge exchange.
This portal is only for Satellite Meeting proposal consideration. Only one organiser from each proposed Satellite Meeting should submit a proposal.
Bring your specialist community to ICPP 2028
We invite proposals from individuals, institutions, plant pathology and mycological societies, other scientific groups, and organisers of Satellite Meetings held alongside previous ICPP congresses.
Meetings may be held at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre or another nearby location. Proposals can range from focused half-day events to workshops or smaller scientific conferences extending over two days.

Planning essentials
Important conditions for organisers to consider before submitting.
Minimum registrations
Satellite Meetings will be cancelled if fewer than 30 participants have registered by the applicable deadline.
Travel and expenses
ICPP 2028 will not cover travel, accommodation or registration fees for Satellite Meeting organisers or speakers.
Program publication
The program for each approved Satellite Meeting is expected to be published on the ICPP 2028 website.
Sponsorship coordination
Organisers should consult the ICPP 2028 Local Organising Committee before approaching sponsors, helping coordinate requests and avoid duplication.
The International Society for Plant Pathology generally expects organisers and speakers to meet their own expenses, as selection for these roles is considered professional recognition of their expertise.
What ICPP 2028 will provide
For meetings held at the GCCEC or an approved nearby location, the ICPP 2028 Organising Committee will offer the following for inclusion in Satellite Meeting budgets:
Promoting your meeting
Communication is essential to the success of Satellite Meetings. The ICPP 2028 Organising Committee will promote approved meetings through official conference communication channels.
Organisers are also strongly encouraged to publicise their meeting through professional networks, societies, institutions and mailing lists to maximise visibility and participation.
Organisers may provide mailing lists for inclusion in the ICPP 2028 communications database, allowing announcements and updates to be distributed through the conference’s dedicated mailing list.
Submit by 4 December 2026
Only one organiser should complete the proposal on behalf of each Satellite Meeting team.
