Visa Requirements

Before you travel

Plan your entry to Australia early

Most international delegates will need an appropriate visa or travel authority before travelling to Australia. The right option depends on your passport, personal circumstances and the activities you will undertake while you are here.

Your visa pathway

Requirements and processing times can change. Always make your decision using the Australian Government Department of Home Affairs website—not a third-party site.

Check your passport

Confirm the passport you intend to travel on is current and that your personal details are correct.

Find the right visa

Use the official Visa Finder to identify the options available for your passport and intended activities.

Prepare and apply

Gather complete, accurate supporting documents and lodge through the official channel for your visa type.

Allow plenty of time

Apply well ahead of the conference and consider your visa status before making non-refundable travel commitments.

Complete and consistent information helps Home Affairs assess your application. Requirements vary, so follow the document checklist shown in your application.

  • A clear copy of your passport biodata page
  • Names and details that exactly match your passport
  • Your travel purpose, dates and proposed itinerary
  • Evidence that you can fund your visit
  • Relevant travel history and evidence of your return plans
  • Requested supporting documents and certified translations where required

Supporting documentation

Download your invitation letter

Once your registration is fully paid and your passport details have been entered, you can generate a personalised ICPP 2028 invitation letter from your registration dashboard.

Please note: an invitation letter supports your application but does not guarantee that a visa will be granted.

  1. Log in

Return to your ICPP 2028 registration dashboard and sign in as a returning delegate.

  2. Enter your details

Open Document, select Enter Details, then complete every requested field exactly as it appears in your passport.

  3. Generate the PDF

Select GO, then choose Download letter to create your personalised PDF.
